Helping a client sell or purchase a new home or investment property is sometimes challenging, usually fun, but always satisfying. Moving many times myself has helped me become a better Realtor.
I grew up in Wooster, Ohio. In 1981 I met and married my husband while attending Kent State University. We settled in a suburb of Cleveland, Maple Heights and started our family along with purchasing a flower shop, Brecksville Florist. Much of my customer service experience was developed there. After seven wonderful years and the addition of 3 sons, we decided to sell the flower shop and I started a new solo venture opening Emerald Green Plant Company doing interior plantscaping and flowers for corporate accounts in downtown Cleveland! This allowed me more flexibility in caring for and enjoying my family.
Eleven years later and with all of my sons (now numbering 4) in school full time, I was lucky enough to fulfill a childhood dream and work as a flight attendant for 3 years. A chance interview sent me off to Mexico and the Caribbean working flights for Apple Tours. It was great fun, great customer service, and we flew free! The tragedy of 9/11 and the twin towers brought a sad and early ending to that career. However, I counted my blessings that I was not in the air that day.
A brief job with airport security left me pondering my next career choice. A poor experience with real estate left me feeling that I would love that job and could certainly do a better job than this past agent. Thus my career as a real estate agent began. I love the many people I meet and all of my customer service background provided me with the tools to be successful! It is very fulfilling and exciting to help a client find a new home or a profitable investment. My business experience has prepared me for the paperwork, negotiating, and organization skills to add to my success. My husband’s career took us to Cherry Hill, New Jersey for three and a half years. I enjoyed real estate, the urban lifestyle, the old Victorian and row homes, and was educated in a different more complicated real estate market.
The birth of my first grandchild (finally a girl, Iris) and the desire to be back closer to all our families has brought my husband and I back to Ohio and to Athens. We love the friendliness and beauty of this area! Frank, my oldest son remains in New Jersey working as an EMT, while attending college. Peter works for Third Sun Solar, his wife Traci works for Donkey Coffee, and Iris is now joined by baby brother Arlo. Alex is a junior in college at George Washington University in Washington, DC studying political science and on to law school. Chris, my youngest is a sophomore at Athens High School. He enjoys the skate park, and the football and track teams. We recently bought a home here in Athens and are excited to settle in, meet our neighbors and enjoy this beautiful city!
