I transplanted myself to Athens in 2004 with my husband, Scott Pack. We moved here from Morehead, Kentucky for what we thought would be just a temporary stay. Scott had been accepted to Ohio University to complete a Master of Computer Science. With that completed, he is now working as a computer security analyst for the university. So even though we thought we would only live here for a few years, we are now lucky enough to stay and settle into this great community. We hope to purchase our first home in the coming months and start putting down roots.
I grew up in Jessamine County in the rolling hills and horse farms of central Kentucky. I completed a Bachelor of Business Administration at Morehead State University while working at my favorite coffee shop, The Fuzzy Duck.
These days, I very much enjoy spending my days at Liz Maule Realty. I earned a real estate license in 2004 and use it to assist the agents in managing pre-settlement activities, preparing documents for our listings and keeping all files updated. I'm also the Liz Maule Realty "Official Photographer" and generally keep everything organized and humming along.
I really enjoy living in Athens. Though the area may be slightly lacking in shopping opportunities, it certainly makes up for that in beauty, activities and great people. I love seeing people out all the time walking or riding a bike around town. I think the OU campus buildings are beautiful and charming. I love hiking various trails throughout the beautiful hills of Southeastern Ohio, especially those around the Hocking Hills area, Strouds Run State Park and the Sells Park/Nature Preserve areas. I love visiting and purchasing from area farmers and craftspeople at the Farmers Market on Wednesday & Saturday. You'll often see Scott & I eating at Casa Nueva, getting a delicious coffee from Donkey Coffee & Espresso, or picking up a gourmet pizza from Avalanche Pizza. Breakfast from The Village Bakery is one of my most favorite treats! If you know of any especially beautiful sights or the location of an apple farm to pick apples, I would love to hear about it.
I have most recently helped in the construction of a home for a family in Nelsonville with Habitat for Humanity's "Women Raise the Roof". It's been wonderful to begin to learn home construction skills and to work with all the incredible community members involved.
